Iris Analysis in Santa Monica

Eastern-Western Integrative Medicine Doctors

"IRIDOLOGY, THE MASTER SCIENCE OF DIAGNOSTIC” Dr. Benard Jensen (The father of Iridology in America)

“ In ancient cultures the eye was considered the gateway to the soul, and the physician today, the eye serves as a window through which the state of health can be readily observed” Dr. Patrick T Roper- Lecture Notes in Ophthalmology

Dr. Bernard Jensen (the American Father of Iridology)

“Your eyes are unique, as individual as your fingerprint- they are part of what make you special!”

It is said in some cultures that the eye is considered the gateway to the soul. In today's world, the eyes serve as a window that allow doctors and healthcare providers to have an understanding of a person's internal health. Each person's eye is unique to them and each iris acts as a fingerprint; no two are the same. At Balanced Life Institute, we offer a service known as iridology that uses your iris as a guide to your overall health. We encourage you to speak with a Santa Monica integrative medical professional from Balanced Life Institute about how iridology can be a part of your overall health plan.

Iridology is an analysis of the iris that is quick, accurate and non-invasive. The entire procedure is painless and relatively simple. Through the analysis of the iris, or the colored portion of your eye, a trained professional can see inside the whole body. The iris records information about a person's strengths and weaknesses, including the state and functioning of each organ within the body. Review of the iris can give an insight into the cellular activity of the body as well as inflammation and levels of toxemia. Armed with this information, we can find the underlying causes of symptoms and disease and seek the best care plan to alleviate the cause of the condition.

What is iridology?

Iris Analysis is a quick, accurate, non-invasive and painless system of a Health Analysis. Through analysis of the iris, the colored part of the eye, we can see inside the body!

The iris records information about your constitutional strengths and weaknesses and state and functioning of every organ in the body including cellular activity throughout the body, as well as levels of inflammation and toxemia. Armed with this information we can take best advantage our strengths, and strengthen our weaknesses, but just as importantly, we can find the underlying causes for symptoms and disease and in seeking health it is essential to find the CAUSE of a condition, because attempting to cure a disease without removing its cause is like trying to sober up a drunk man while he continues to drinks!

How to read the eyes

Based on most recent Iris chart completed by Dr. Bernard Jensen, Right iris represents right side of the body and the left iris, left side. If each iris compare with clock face from eleven to one o’clock for example is head area and six o’clock is leg area in both irises, from one to two is upper face, two to three lower face and heart, three to four upper back, lower back and so on in left iris and reverse in right eye.

History of Iridology

The practice of iridology is a covalent bond of science and art. Because iridology is practiced according to certain long established and time-honored principles that constitution a rather well-defined and expanding body of knowledge, it rightly falls into the category of a science. At the same time, this fascinating science has some aspects of an art. Two European men who “rediscovered” the idea of iris analysis in the nineteenth century are generally considered today to share the title of “father of iridology.” The first of these men is Dr. Ignatz Von Peczely. In 1837, Von Pezely, as a lad of about ten years of age, captured an owl in the family garden in Hungary. In an effort to escape from its captor’s hand, the owl fractured its legs. He claimed to notice immediately a spot that developed in the owl’s iris at the 6.00 (six o’clock) position, which is to say the bottom part of the iris. The iris mark made an impression on Von Peczly’s young and inquisitive mind. Later in his life, Von Peczly noticed a similar matching in a man’s iris. This spared a remembrance of the encounter with the owl and brought the onset of the development of what is now modern iridology. Von Peczely went on to study medicine in Germany and later returned to his native Hungary to practice. He became quite well known as the doctor who could diagnose by looking into the eyes. The other father of iridology is Nils Lijequist, a Swedish clergyman who discovered iridology at about the same time as the young Von Peczly. Liljequist’s interest in the iris appearance of discolouration was associated with chemicals or drugs that were ingested or absorbed into the body. The observant clergyman noticed that each drug or chemical, how shade of discoloration in the iris. The Swedish Pastor eventually constructed what would develop into an elementary iris chart. These two iridology pioneers established themselves in about the year 1880. In recent years, Dr Bernard Jensen continued their work and developed the most recent and complete iridology chart which is indicates the exact location of the body parts and systems in the irises.

Modern Medicine and Iridology

Even orthodox medicine accepts that the eye is an indicator of many health problems ranging from diabetes to a stroke, and from anemia to goiter. These and other diagnoses are made through the condition of the blood vessels on the retina at the back of the eye or by the general appearance of the eyeball and socket, and even by the whites of the eyes (sclera).

The eyes and the brain are closely related. In the Embryo State of human development the eye starts out being a part or the brain and then slowly separates yet remains connected via the optic nerve and optic thalami, and the sympathetic and par- sympathetic nervous systems. The iris is an extension of the brain being endowed with literally hundreds of thousands of nerve endings, microscopic blood vessels, muscle and connective tissue.

The nerve cells within the iris appear to record the vibratory rate of cells in other parts of the body and respond to changes on body tissue. The markings and colors in the iris changes as the condition of the body tissue changes.

The eye, and more particularly the iris, is very complex organ about which we still know very little. But we do know that there is a terribly intricate connection between the eye and the brain via the nervous system. We do know that the eye and the brain via the nervous system. We do know the eye and the iris both change in form with changes in our body chemistry. Although nobody fully understands how it works, although nobody fully understands how it works, empirical observation confirms, to anyone who is willing to see, that the iris has a reflex action which corresponds to specific changes of tissue in the body and the exact location of the tissue.(4)

The science of iridology is based on the analysis of one of the most complicated tissue structures of the whole body the iris.

It is a method whereby the doctor or health practitioner can tell, from markings or signs in the iris, the reflex condition of various organs and systems of the body. These markings represent a detailed picture of the integrity of the body; its constitutional strength, areas of congestion or toxic accumulations and inherent strengths and weaknesses.

Nature has provided us with an invaluable insight into the vital status of the health of the body by transmitting this information to the eye.

The laboratory testing procedures practiced today, which are not always necessary, are expensive, time-consuming and, often, uncomfortable to the patient. With iridology, we have a simple, painless, economical and non-invasive way of looking into the body. This is not to say that it should exclude other forms of analysis. On the contrary, it may be employed in conjunction with any other system of analysis or diagnosis that a practitioner wishes to use. Now, more than at any other time in history, we are in need of accurate and less complex means of analyzing a patient's condition.

Eighty percent of the diseases treated in this country are of a chronic nature. The tissue found in chronically afflicted patients can be monitored better in the iris of the eye than, possibly, by any other method of analysis. Iridology gives an essential insight to the development of these chronic diseases or the diminishing of that disease or inflammation.
It is this tissue change that takes place in the patient that makes iridology especially valuable for those specializing in the treatment of chronic diseases.

Iridology is dealing with one of the most basic truths of the healing arts, one that the average form of analysis has not dealt with properly.

The percentage of incorrect diagnosing is nearly as great now as it was back in the 1920s due to the increase in disease symptoms, this increase, together with the combinations of reactions due to X-ray, sulfa and other drugs, and our continued use of refined and synthesized foods, makes it difficult to diagnose accurately.

Changes in living habits, pollution and the increased stress of modem times also change the manifestations of the various symptoms of disease. Based upon these facts, it is obvious that symptomology alone is often inadequate in providing the diagnostician with enough information to plan proper treatment for the patient.

Iridology offers a unique perspective to the concept and practice of preventive medicine.
It is difficult to alert a person to the health problems that his or her particular body will experience, using orthodox methods of analysis and diagnosis. These methods rely upon the appearance of clinical symptoms.

The iris, however, can inidicate a problem in its earliest inception, long before disease symptoms are present. With this information, a health program can be developed which is tailored to the specific needs of the client, thus preventing the manifestation of disease.

Grouping a list of symptoms into a disease name, in order to identify and administer the drug that will suppress those symptoms, is not a satisfactory solution to the problem of health care and maintenance.

Iridology, in its basic philosophy, stresses the treatment of the patient, not the disease. By identifying the underlying imbalances in the body that produce symptoms, it is an invaluable asset in the formulation of remedial therapies.

When one has come to fully appreciate the value of being able to determine from the outside of the body what is occurring within it, he will realize that iridology is truly a science whose time has come.

Dr. Bernard Jensen

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM IRIDOLOGY?

Because of seeming simplicity and easy access, iridology has been the study of many minds, from the devoted truth seeker to the casually curious.

There have always been those who have abused a good thing by taking advantage of it for personal gain, and iridology has been no exception to this aspect of human behavior.

There are those who have fathomed the great truths in iridology and endeavor to upgrade and make respectable the practice, and much progress has been made.

Likewise, there are those who, having had a single course or none at all, and having read a book or two, has gone out to "practice" iridology, doing themselves and the science a disfavor.

Many have made claims about iridology that are ridiculous and untrue.

We owe it to ourselves and those who seek self health care to keep iridology clean and useful for everyone.

We believe that iris analysis should be used with all other forms of analytical and diagnostic procedures to
make as complete a diagnosis as possible. This is a partial list of what you can and cannot expect from iridology, and some questions it can answer.

1. Reveals constitutional strength. Are we built strongly or weakly? How well does the body endure stress?
2. Reveals the health level. What is the health potential?
3. Reveals inherent strengths and weaknesses. What and where are they?
4. Reveals nutritional and chemical needs. What elements are lacking and where?
5. Reveals the location of environmentally obtained toxic accumulations.
6. Reveals the quality of nerve force in the body. What is the condition of the nervous system?
7. Reveals response to treatment; how well the body is healing itself and at what rate.
8. Reveals the acid/catarrh level in the body. Where are the accumulations?
9. Reveals the "whole" body as a unified structure. What is the "overall" health level?

IRIDOLOGY DOES NOT ...

1. Iridology does not name diseases.
Often we see situations and conditions developing long before there are symptoms to which disease names are attached. Instead, we see tissue strengths and weaknesses with which we work to bring about a higher quality of health.

2. It does not reveal operations performed under anesthesia. Nerve impulses are short circuited under these conditions.

3. It does not reveal pregnancy, because such a condition is normal for the female body.

4. It does not reveal the presence of gallstones.

5. Iridology is not a psychic analysis.

6. Iridology cannot tell you what accident has occurred but can see damaged tissue.

7. Iridology cannot tell specific pathology in the body. As individuals vary greatly in their ability to endure stress, what appears to be pathology in one may not be a bother to another.

8. Iridology cannot pinpoint the location of parasites, germ life or bacterial invasions that may exist in any part of the body. It does show, however, the condition of the tissue and the development of a host situation that may allow for these things to manifest.

Iridology is a whole new branch of science. It is a specialty that works well with any other science that is open minded enough to see the information it has to offer and work with it.

Iridology is a "holistic" tool in that it does not deal specifically with one segment of the body, but realizes the trinity of body, mind and spirit as having interrelated functions.

IN CONCLUSION

Methods should be investigated for improving the performance of the body. Although a perfectly well individual may not exist, one is afforded the opportunity to prevent illness through a more healthy way of living.
The body is a servant to our mental leadership, discipline and discernment; it knows so little without a good leader. Truly, the body needs a good path on which to travel; and the body molds to that good path. A more natural life is the means of obtaining a cleaner body. One, who has earned a clean body, has a zest for living.
